Past Presidents

Since our WI was formed in 1927 we have had 26 Presidents.   Our current president Angela Long has held this office since 2012. Angela is supported by a committee and members who have special duties.

A little bit about us

We are a friendly, warm, welcoming group with a growing membership.   We are of varied ages and interests.   We meet at Tatworth Memorial Hall the 3rd Thursday of each month, taking a break for the month of July when we have a couple of social engagements in place of our usual meeting.  Jerusalem is sung at every meeting accompanied by the piano.  At the end of each meeting refreshments are provided.

Our current programme can be found on the news and events tab.

There is a monthly luncheon group and Coffee morning.

In the summer months we play Golf Croquet and in the Winter months Kurling and seated volley ball.  Outings are also organised on a regular basis which are always very well attended.

Our members receive a birthday card from the membership in celebration of their special day.

To raise money for the ACWW we have a Flower of the Month competition where members are invited to bring a flower from their garden. Member ‘vote’ for the best by putting their pennies by the side of the flower. A cup is presented at the end of the meeting.

From time to time we  have a Bring and Buy Sale to raise funds.

The last couple of years has seen our Christmas party held at the Memorial Hall where we meet with the catering done by a local company.  It is a huge amount of fun and we all get a Secret Santa Present.

We are proud to say that we do lots of work within the community, litter picking and supporting local organisations to name a couple  We also support the WI at Federation and National Level and provide our members with details of what is going on with in the WI generally.
