Sadly, the speaker for the evening cancelled at the last moment due to COVID in the family, so, after a brief business meeting, we prepared to play pencil and paper games.  However, a gentleman appeared at the door, not known to any of us, but he came giving out various goodies.  He was, in fact, Michael Kenny from Barchester Homes, the largest providers of care in the country.  Our committee members promptly co-opted him to be our speaker!  Not thrown by that, he spoke about Barchester’s policy of helping local groups and opening their doors to anyone who ate alone to come and share a meal at no cost.  They also welcomed people to Dementia Coffee mornings; the nearest home is Bloomfield in Paulton.

We then played the game of writing something about oneself that others would not know and everyone tried to guess who it was. Some very amusing facts were revealed!
