Litton and Hinton Blewett WI
February 2022
There was a good attendance for the February meeting.
The President reminded us that subs are due on 1st April and at the April meeting we shall have a Bring & Buy Stall with books. Litton Fete returns this year on 11th June after a COVID 19 break; the WI will run a Cake and Produce Stall. The Sewing Group is in action again making Oncology cushions and would be grateful for donations of soft cotton material. There is a special Ladies Night being planned – ideas welcome. 11th May is Litton & Hinton Blewett WI Centenary, so plans are under way for the celebration.
Our speaker was Viv Lloyd with a talk entitled ‘My Life in Marmalade’. Viv makes lots of marmalade to sell and also jams and chutneys in season. Many of us make marmalade but not on such a large scale; we all have our special ways and many of us use the same method. Viv’s passion for marmalade started when she won an award in 2008 and since then she has become a judge at Craft and Produce Shows. Her jars of marmalade she had for sale looked bright and attractive, if rather expensive!
The evening finished with a tasty supper.
